Alexander Musienko, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Federation, and Yulia Lopareva, Head of the Russian Pavilion at the EXPO-2017, planted a birch-tree – a symbol of the country.

Consulates from the USA, Italy and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan also took part in the action. George Krol, the Ambassador from the US, gifted the garden with oak seeds brought from North Dakota. Matteo Petrini, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Italy, planted a mountain ash and Ahmad Idris Innab, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, planted a birch-tree.

The Botanical garden is being built by order of the President of Kazakhstan. The surface area of the garden is about 1 km2. At the moment there are about 50000 plantings there, among which there also is a Russian tree now.
