RUSSIAN NATIONAL DAY SHALL BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 8 AT EXPO-2017

Many Russian cultural and business events, a colorful national parade, traditional Russian treats, song and dance await the Visitors of EXPO-2017 on September 8. On this day, the Russian Federation shall celebrate its National Day at the International Specialized Exhibition.

Each of the 115 participating countries of EXPO-2017 celebrate their National Day, Russia shall hold its celebration two days prior to the end of the EXPO, concluding this festive tradition.   

The official delegation at the celebration of Russia National Day is headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich. The delegation comprises General commissioner of the Russian Section - Georgy Kalamanov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation - Alan Lushnikov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan - Mikhail Bocharnikov,  President of JSC “Rusatom International Network” - Alexander Merten, Deputy General director of PJSC Uralkali - Oleg Kalinskiy and of other officials and heads of largest corporations of Russia.

The Russian Federation National Day Opening Ceremony shall take place at noon at the National Day Stage at EXPO-2017 closing by a grand parade. The parade participants shall march through the whole territory of EXPO bearing the flags of the Russian Federation and its regions, accompanied by the Omsk Philharmonic Brass Band.

The closing Gala concert of The Festival of Russian regions' culture shall take place on the same day. The festival itself was opened in the first days of the EXPO. Over this time, numerous performers from all accross Russia have participated in it: from Republic of Tatarstan, Samara region, Chelyabinsk region, Sverdlovsk region, Altay, Moscow and other regions.

On September 8, the exhibition visitors can contemplate the performance of the State Academic Russian National Ensemble - ROSSIYA, prominent trumpeter Vadim Eilenkrig, Buranovskiye Babushki band, folk vocal ensemble "Slavyane", CoffetimeBand vocal project, State Youth Dance and Song Ensemble Altay, folk music ensemble Sibirskaya Zabava, vocal ensemble Sladotsvet and other artists. An interactive program, gifts and surprises await the visitors of EXPO and the Russian Pavilion.

The celebration also involves events within the Business program. The Russian Pavilion became one of the most active organizers of business discussions, round tables and forums throughout the EXPO. On September 8, a program session titled “Clean” energy is the investment in the future shall take place within the framework of the XI Kazenergy Eurasian Forum where Russian Federation participates as partner. The business event is dedicated to assessing the outlook for development of the energy sector and its influence on the global economy. The discussion brings together the leading minds of the energy sector. The speakers shall include: Members of the International Award Committee - Rae Kwon Chung and Steven Griffiths, Remigijus Lapinskas, President, World Bioenergy Association and Angelina Davydova, Director, Russian-German Office for Environmental Information.

Igor Lobovsky the President of the Global Energy Prize Association on development of international research and projects in the field of energy will be the moderator of the discussion.

The program session shall also include the following events: New technologies and solutions for the nuclear industry with the partnership of ROSATOM state corporation and the Plenary Session of the XI KAZENERGY EURASIAN FORUM.

Festive and business events shall be concluded by 18:00. The official closing ceremony of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017 shall be held on September 10.
